High speed internet will finally soon be available for hundreds more Nevada County households. The California Public Utilities Commission has approved Spiral Internet’s 16-point-7 million dollar grant request, which was made nearly 3 years ago. Spiral CEO John Paul says the grant will provide 60-percent of the money for what’s described as a Phase One project. The balance will be covered by private investment. It will cover 19-hundred-41 homes in the southeastern part of the county…
Paul says the project will also serve businesses, schools, and public safety facilities. He also says this might bring down internet service charges for Comcast customers…
Paul says construction on what he calls the “state-of-the-art network” is expected to begin in late spring. He encourages residents to map their location on Spiral Internet’s web site, as Spiral prepares for future construction phases.
