Highway 49 Accident Sends One to Hospital

One woman was hospitalized after a rear end collision Monday morning on Highway 49.  CHP Officer Steve Ingram says the accident happened when one car was making a turn off Highway 49 near Peckolee Drive. A 41 year old Grass Valley woman driving a GMC Suburban slowed down for the car making the turn. Officer Ingram says the  37 year old Nevada City man driving a Toyota pickup was only 20 feet behind the Suburban and could not stop.

The driver of the Suburban was taken to Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital for treatment of non life-threatening injures. The CHP is focusing their investigation on the driver of the Toyota pickup.
