Historical Society Purchases Armory Building

The Nevada County Historical Society Friday closed escrow on the purchase of the National Guard Armory building in Nevada City.  The 10,800 square foot building located at the corner of Zion and Ridge Roads has been vacant for quite some time. The purchase price was $210,000 and Historical Society Board President Daniel Ketchum says  the plan is to move the Searles Historical Library out of it’s cramped quarters on Pine street into a portion of the Armory Building.*
