Historical Society Speaker Night Features BYLT

The Nevada County Historical Society Speaker Night event tonight will feature the story of the Bear Yuba Land Trust. Long Time Board Member Joe Byrne and longtime volunteer Trent Pridemore will have pictures and a power point presentation. Byrne says the Land trust got started on Earth Day , 1990 and is now  26 yrs. old.

The first property they acquired was the donation of Mathis Pond which which  is on just under three acres just outside Alta Sierra. It is open to the public and maintained by the South County Rotary club.

The Bear Yuba land trust was also responsible for building the Litton Trail that travels from Sierra College through Litton Hill. for which they won an award.

Nevada county Historical Society Speaker night presentation starts at 7 p.m.  in the Madelyn Helling Library Community Room, it is free and open to the public and will run about one hour.
