Hit and Run Leads to Arrest

A hit and run accident originating in the area of Hughes Road and Douglas Avenue led to the arrest of a suspect who first drove away from the scene and then fled on foot after being followed.  GVPD Sergeant Clint Bates said the victim followed the suspect after he drove away.

A search of the area located 41 year old Ernest Prendez at Slate Creek and Hughes Road who was identified as the driver. Prendez was determined to be under the influence and was arrested for hit and run, DUI, and a violation of a condition of his release for prior conviction.
