Hodges Sentenced for Attempted Murder

A man found guilty of attempting to kill his aunt with a hammer has been sentenced in Nevada County Superior Court. According to Assistant District Attorney Anna Ferguson says that Eric Hodges was also found guilty of assault causing great bodily harm. Hodges was sentenced for both the attempted murder and the great bodily harm Monday morning.

Hodges was also fined 2000 dollars for restitution to the victims.
Hodges took the opportunity to express his regrets for injuring his aunt. However, Judge Dowling quickly stated  that Hodges comments were not a sign of remorse. Ferguson thinks the sentencing is appropriate.

Ferguson says that Hodges has already served 550 days in County Jail.
