Opening Day for the two day, Holidays at Empire Mine, drew a record crowd Friday and attendance wasn’t bad on Saturday even with the rain. Park Aide Christian Latner said the park was bustling the day after Thanksgiving.
Latner said Saturday drew about 500 more visitors, and that was not bad for a rainy day.
A favorite at the event is a visit with Santa Claus. Santa said that he was busy on Friday.
Santa said children had a different view of Christmas this year.
Santa did say one young woman had a special request.
Anna also shared what her brother wants.
1700 visitors in one day is close to if not a park record for a single day of Holidays at Empire Mine.
