Home Invasion Suspects Looking For Marijuana

Three men suspected in one home invasion robbery, as well as an attempted one, in Nevada County last weekend, are still being sought. Sheriff Keith Royal says the first incident happened early Friday morning at a home on Black Forest Road in Penn Valley, where two of the suspects woke up the residents at gunpoint…

Royal says numerous items were thrown around during the search. He says the suspects then fled in the residents’ pickup, which was located, abandoned, later that morning, along Indian Springs Road. Three pounds of processed marijuana, cell phones, and other electronic items were taken from the home. The second incident occurred early Saturday at a home on Blackwoods Road, in the North San Juan area. Royal says one occupant was confronted in the driveway by three armed men. He was then forced to the ground. But then another occupant came outside and fired shots at the suspects, who also fired back, as they retreated in a vehicle from the home. Royal says the suspects had similar descriptions in both incidents and marijuana was being sought each time…

Royal says the suspects were described by the victims in both cases as wearing all-black clothing, including black masks, about 25 to 30 years old. He says they are not believed to be from the county, but possibly from the Vacaville area.
