Grass Valley is just one town that gets a lot of requests for service from the homeless population, as well as from residents concerned about them. And now, Mayor Howard Levine says the city has printed about 5,000 pocket guides that can be handed out for a quick and easy reference…

Inside the pocket guide, you’ll see a list of services with boxes checked off, featuring the names of the relevant agencies that offer help. Levine says it’s also a good option to have when approached by panhandlers, some of whom may not be as helpless as they seem…

Levine says the city continues to get some complaints from merchants, concerned about the impact on their business. The pocket guide of homeless services can be found at City Hall, the Police Department, and the Chamber of Commerce.
