Western Nevada County’s homeless organization has received some good news. The state department of Housing and Community Development has released some grant money that will allow Hospitality House to built a year-round shelter. Hospitality House Executive Director Cindy Maple says the release of the long-awaited funds of over 340-thousand dollars, means construction on ‘Utah’s Place’ can begin, maybe even as soon as this week…
The funds were part of a million dollar grant, but were tied up in some regulations that in part, had to do with private matching funds. Maple says with funding now available, Utah’s Place could open this summer…
The 65-hundred square-foot facility would allow year-round services. Currently, shelters for the homeless rotate through many different community churches.
