Hospitality house has 54 beds which have been filled every night. They also have 15 more beds downstairs that they can use depending on the weather. McDonald says the Empty Bowl Soup Supper has been one of their benchmark events.
The first seating is from noon to 2 pm Saturday and there’s a dinner seating from 5 to 7 pm. The soup is made by culinary students at Hospitality House but McDonald says lots of local restaurants also chip in.
Each participant gets to pick out their own soup bowl, made and donated by local potters and Gold Country Wood Turners which they get to take home after the meal. Tickets are $20.
