Hotter Than Normal Summer Continues

If it seems hotter than normal this summer, it’s not your imagination. Meteorologist Hannah Chandler, with the National Weather Service in Sacramento, says since June 1st daily highs have been above average all but 9 days, or 46 of the 55 days in Grass Valley. A year ago, it was 36 of 55 days…

There have also been 6 days of record highs in Grass Valley, all during the heatwave of June 19th through the 24th. Chandler says record rainfall does not necessarily translate to a mild summer..

And in Sacramento, it’s expected to be the first time in recorded history that July will not have a daily high of below 90.
