Hottest Summer On Record For Nevada County

Obergfell says Nevada County had 47 days with highs of 90 or above, compared to 39 a year ago. The historical average is 28. She says persistent high pressure also means no breezes which also contribute to warmer nights…

Obergfell says 13 daytime temperature records were broken, and two more records were broken during Labor Day weekend. The second- hottest summer was just 2 years ago, in 2015, and the third- hottest was 2014. Both were drought years, while this summer followed a winter of record rains for the county.
