Housing Agency Programs Aid Seniors

The Nevada County Housing Development Corporation  has been in the community for over 30 years, yet Executive Director, Joyce Peterman says it’s amazing how many locals don’t know the agency exists.

The non-profit agency’s mission is to help meet the housing needs of low income individuals and families, and over the years the agency has administered the Federal Section 8 Low Income Housing Voucher Program and in 2004  built a 42-unit affordable apartment complex, the Courtyards at Penn Valley, and remain a managing partner.  Peterman says their latest affordable housing idea is   shared housing .
