How To Reduce Hwy 49 Crashes Discussed Again

With some recent highly-publicized accidents on Highway 49 in mind, the Nevada County Transportation Commission held one of a series meeting on the issue last week. Landon says most crashes occur near intersections, especially rear-end collisions. He says Cal Trans would like to see if it’s feasible to build median barriors on certain stretches. Landon says information from the meetings will help determine, what if any, areas require safety projects. Another meeting is coming up at Bear River High School on Wednesday evening, the 22nd.
