The 10th annual Penny Pitch at Kanes Restaurant to benefit a new Infusion Center at Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital drew a big crowd this year. To start off the event, Grass Valley City Council Member Howard Levine delivered a proclamation for the Penny Pitch.
Several teams lined up to pitch pennies Saturday to hopefully win the coveted trophy. This year the trophy went to Abe Abt who talked with KNCO’s Geoff Flynn after his win.
Marty Lombardi who was attending the Penny Pitch says events like this are what Nevada County is all about.
All funds raised from the Penny Pitch will go to the Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital Foundation to go towards completion of a new Infusion Center at the hospital. Officials say the Infusion center is seeing some 9,500 patients a year and that number is likely to grow.
