Humpty Dumpty Re-Opens

A well-known Grass Valley establishment is back in business. Humpty Dumpty’s Restaurant opens its doors today, after a fire gutted the building on East Main Street over a year ago. It’s taken owner Randy Hodges a lot longer than he first thought to get the doors open again. After some construction and insurance issues, Hodges says he then had kitchen design problems.

Hodges says the new building has some of the old feel to it, even though the fire in January of 2011 destroyed almost everything.

There’s even a large upstairs dining area that was not there before. Humpty Dumpty’s has become very popular over the years, and Hodges says he thinks he knows why.

The restaurant is having what they are calling a ‘soft opening’ today, but will still be open normal business hours. Their ‘grand re-opening’ is tomorrow (Friday).
