Huni is accused of stealing about 11-thousand dollars, as president of the Pleasant Valley School District Parent Club. She had pleaded guilty earlier this year but a judge agreed to her request to withdraw the plea, after she expressed concerns about spending more jail time than receiving alternative sentencing. A trial was scheduled in late September, but she instead fled the state. Newell says a conviction for that could mean eight additional months in jail.
