Hutto Fire Near Smartsville at 37 Acres- Updates 8:00

You may be hearing planes and smelling smoke in the Penn Valley Smartsville area…

The fire started at around 4:30 on the south side of Highway 20 in the Big Oak Valley area. The fire is 37 acres .

Keller Road has been evacuated by the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office as a precautionary measure.

No one has been injured.

Confirmed one outbuilding and 1 RV destroyed. Some resources are being released, including Tanker 85.

All air tankers have been released from the Hutto Fire.

Hutto air attack is releasing two helicopters 

6 CalFire engines, 6 other engines on the scene. Several other agencies are also helping fight the fire including the U-S Forest Service, Smartsville, Penn Valley, and Rough and Ready Fire Departments. Nevada County Consolidated, the Ophir Hill Fire Department, Beale AFB, and the California Highway Patrol are present.
