Hwy 20 Motorcycle Ax Closes Highway Temporarily

A motorcycle rider who crashed into a utility pole on Highway 20 near the 5 Mile House was able to survive with just minor injuries this morning, even though the utility pole was split in two.

CHP Officer Greg Tassone says the westbound lanes of Hwy 20 were closed at Scotts Flat road so medical aid could get to the driver and utility crews could begin restoration work. an Air Ambulance had been called for the rider, but it was later determined that his injuries were minor. Caltrans crews responded to the scene for clean up and the acccident is still under investigation. The name of the motorcycle rider and where he is from has not been released.
