Hydrant Turns to Fountain after Accident

A spectacular water feature was flowing in South Nevada County yesterday after…
an elderly driver lost control of his car and hit a fire hydrant. CHP Officer Marc Morrison says the accident happened in Lake of the Pines on Sycamore Court Tuesday afternoon. Officer Morrison says the 83 year old driver went down a embankment and sheared off the entire fire hydrant.

Officer Morrison says the driver lost consciousness because of a medical condition. The 1998 Toyota the man was driving suffered major damage. The driver was not seriously injured in the accident.
