I Miss the Olympics

I have to say that the 2014 Winter Olympics were a delight to watch. Much of this has to do with the improved production of the events including camera placements and special effects during replay and of course our personal use of the DVR. I was never quite sure if I was watching an event live or from another day… but it was all fun.

Perhaps even more fun was creating modifications for many of the events. Some of my favorites include:

Speed Skating with  Hurdles

Zamboni Drag Races as well as Zamboni ala NASCAR- three or four rows of two Zambonis across racing on the long speed skating track.

“Pimp My Bobsled”, complete with lifts and sound systems.

Curling on the Bobsled track… perhaps  slide with the rock down the track and release it at the bottom…

Figure skating with random dry patches on the ice… leaps and throws would be  involved with avoiding the patches…

Combine ski jumping and paintball… use your imagination

and.. why not include a good old fashioned snowball fight between countries…

It seems like everywhere I watched the Games, people were willing to share “modifications” for entertainment purposes… and none were taken seriously.
