Ice and Snow Driving Tips

The snow hit Nevada County Friday just after 4:00 PM and it wasn’t long after that traffic started to get a little squirrelly.
As a result a number of vehicles were stranded on the side of the road and cars slipped and slid as they tried to navigate the streets without 4 wheel drive or chains.
CHP Officer Greg Tassone has some tips for driving in the snow and also dispelling some myths.

Tip 2… Chains are not for stopping.

Tip 3…Its a myth that 4-while drive means you can drive fast.

Tip 4…   You cannot abandon your vehicle in the middle of the road.

Conditions are improving in Nevada County… but the roads are still icy.
