A Sept. 13 deadline for the Idaho Maryland Mine to provide $500,000 to the city of Grass Valley for completing an environmental review of the gold mine’s re-opening isn’t a major matter, the mine president says.
David Watkinson spoke from his office in Grass Valley.about the half-million dollars.
Watkinson says if the deadline passes, the mining project review will continue.
Idaho Maryland Mine officials say most mines here shut down in the 1950’s due to a low fixed gold price and rising labor costs.
