Identity Thief Caught at Ritz-Carlton Northstar

An identity thief from the San Francisco Bay Area was caught while staying at a high-end resort hotel in the Lake Tahoe area. According to Placer County Sheriff Sergeant Dave Hunt,  Fysal Ahmed, checked into the Ritz Carlton Northstar.

Ahmed,-Fysal1However, Ahmed did not know the victim had discovered the accounts two weeks ago and had them closed. At the time of check-in the hotel had not verified the credit card.

When deputies made contact with Ahmed they discovered at least a half dozen fraudulently obtained credit cards. It was determined that over 1,000 dollars had been put on the cards. Fysal Ahmed was arrested for grand theft and a number of related charges.
