IFM Begins Easter Meal Distribution

Thanksgiving and Christmas are busy times for local food banks to distribute meals,  but Interfaith food Ministry Executive Director Sue Van Son says the faith-based food bank  is also distributing meals for families in their program for Easter.

Interfaith Food Ministries warehouse is located at 551 Whiting Street, but because of tight space there, they are  offering a drive through food distribution at a nearby church.

Easter Meal packages are being distributed on Wednesday and Friday of this week…that’s in addition to IFM’s  normal food distribution at the warehouse every other week.  People can sign up for food assistance at 551 Whiting Street and donations and volunteer information is available at the Interfaith food ministry dot com website.  IFM is currently helping 2,500 families. Van Son says last year they distributed 74,000 bags of food to individuals and another  1,000 bags to non profits.
