Nevada County health officials have received some encouraging news. More parents are getrting their children vaccinated. County numbers have been among the worst in the state in recent years because parents were getting what are called ‘personal belief exemptions’, but a relatively new law now prohibits those. Nevada County Health Officer Doctor Ken Cutler says a county memo had an incorrect number, but the immunization rate has gone up four percent since last year…
Cutler says rates have increased for three straight years, but there are still a lot of people locally who think that vaccinations are unhealthy…
The rates are for children entering kindergarten, but vaccinations of preschoolers and seventh graders have also gone up.
