Firefighters continue to make progress on the fires locally, with containment percentages continuing to climb. The fire most affecting Nevada County is the Lobo Fire, which CalFire now says is 65 percent contained–that’s up from 52 percent yesterday morning. The Cascade and LaPorte Fires in Butte County have burned together now, with the Cascade Fire listed at over 10-thousand acres and 55 percent contained. The LaPorte Fire is at 61-hundred acres and 45 percent contained. They are calling the McCourtney Fire 95 percent contained at 76 acres. The big question, of course, is when will all this be over? Rahn says he wishes he had an answer…
That means more wind. There are now four fatalities associated with the Wind Complex Fire–all of them in Yuba County.
