In this case, it IS the coaching

Congrats to the Bear River Bruins football team who are advancing to the Section Championship game for the second straight year, defeating a previously undefeated Capital Christian team, 31-21.  I know that the young men on the field make the plays, and Jason Voter, David Mastrella, Austin Baze, Gunner Simpson, Jimmy Vaughn…made all the plays Friday night.  But it is the coaching staff, led by Terry Logue and Scott Savoie, that make these victories happen.  In a year where the Bruins lost not one, or two, but their top four running backs, back up quarterback, top wide receiver…and all those players also played defense…there are no excuses.  It is next man up!!  And the culture of playing hard and winning comes from the top.  Congrats again and I will broadcasting the Bruins vs Sonora for the Section title Saturday at 1pm at Elk Grove High.  I can’t wait!
