Patriots Honor is an organization that was created to provide financial support for disabled war veterans who have suffered life-changing injuries while bravely fighting for our freedom and national security. There are a lot of veterans living in Lake Wildwood and resident Mike Byrne says when they found out about Patriots Honor, they decided to put on a golf tournament to help support local veterans who have been injured.
This is the third year of the Injured Veterans Golf Tournament at Lake Wildwood. It’s Wednesday July 27th. Byrne says last year they were able to help another wounded veterans with the 31 thousand dollars raised by the golf tournament and they hope to do as well this year.
The veteran they plan to help this year lives in Woodland and he’s a double amputee, having lost both legs and part of his right hand in Afghanistan where he was serving with the 82nd Airborne.
Byrne says they have room for 144 golfers and there will also be lunch and a banquet dinner prepared for the players. To get the entry form to sign up for the Injured Veterans Golf Tournament people can call Mike Byrne at 432-3948.
