Interfaith Food Ministry Completes Matching Campaign

They didn’t raise quite as much as last year, but the Interfaith Food Ministry is still grateful to the 5 donors who agreed to put up to $35,000  in their latest Matching campaign. IFM Program Manager Kate Laferriere says last year they had 6 donors and were able to raise $80,000, this year with 5 donors, the matching pledges of the community raised  $70,000.

For 30 years Interfaith food Ministry has been honored to serve Nevada County in feeding the hungry and reducing food insecurity. She says they are still accepting applications for help.

Interfaith Food Ministry conservatively gives $200 per month in food to their clients, that represents 20 percent of their budget. But, food expenses are projected to go up 19% in 2017, Business Contributions are down 5% and individual donations are also down 10%.
LaFerriere says they are also constantly looking for volunteers.
