Interfaith Food Ministry is gearing up for over a thousand families in need of food for Thanksgiving. That’s why they have already launched their Holiday Meals campaign and are asking people to make donations on the I-F-M website or buy a bag of groceries at local stores. Sue Van Son is the Executive Director of I-F-M.
For each $10 dollar bag of groceries purchased many of the Grocery stores will provide Interfaith Food Ministries with $20 worth of food.
Van Son says they were put in a desperate situation when the International Postal Workers food drive was cancelled this year. But the good people at Twin Cities Church stepped up to help…
They collected nearly 5,000 pounds of non perishables, just slightly less than the Postal Workers drive normally brings in. Van Son says Interfaith Food Ministries will be working with the Food Bank of Nevada County and the Salvation Army to get holiday meals to those in need this year.
