Intoxicated Resident May Have Started Fire

An intoxicated resident of a Star Drive address may have set the fire that destroyed the building. According to Sheriff Keith Royal, the original call to his office was from a fire agency.

Responding officers made contact with the suspect.

At that point Alex Carballo was taken into custody because it is against the law to carry a concealed knife of more than 4 inches.

Carballo was booked for disorderly conduct and public intoxication as well as carrying a concealed dagger.
His pit bull was taken to the animal shelter for safe keeping.
The fire remains under investigation. No charges for arson have yet to be filed.
