Dietrich says 199 homes were sold in Nevada County in November, up 26-percent from a year ago. Consumers buying preferences have also been altered this year. In a survey done by the California Association of Realtors, 39-percent of buyers are opting for a bigger home…

The survey says the top three reasons for buying a home in California were: because they got tired of renting, because they desired a larger home, and they desired a better location. Meanwhile, the average price in the county is up 13-percent, with the median price at 475-thousand dollars.
