Gary Tindel, who was Yuba County Sheriff at the time, said Houston was upset about a teacher flunking him. Robert Brens was in his classroom discussing the Rodney King riots at the time. After killing Brens Houston went room to room firing shots, and then took about 80 students hostage for several hours. A friend of one of the students called radio station KUBA to give an update…

Three students, Jason White, Judy Davis, and Beamon Hill were killed. Ten others were injured. Houston was convicted of the murders in 1993, and is on Death Row at San Quentin.
