At Tuesday night’s Grass Valley City Council Meeting, Mayor Jan Arbuckle took the time to recognize a Grass Valley citizen that has made exceptional contributions to the Grass Valley community. The 2012 Grass Valley Mayor’s Award was presented to Sandy “Jake” Jacobson for her many efforts to make recreation and senior citizen activities vital elements in Grass Valley.  Mayor Arbuckle speaks highly of Jacobson.

Jacobson recieved a certificate for her achievements and her name is engraved on the plaque that honors all Mayor’s Award winners that hangs in City Hall.
Also during the meeting the City Council approved the Gold Country Community Center’s operation of the LOVE Building in Condon Park. Sandy Jacobson is the Center’s Executive Director.
