Jefferson Measure May Have to Wait Until November

Another setback for the local State of Jefferson movement. Elections offcials say organizers may not have enough signatures to qualify for the June ballot, and even if they do, the verification process may not be completed in time. That makes it too close to call, which means every signature needs to be verified…

The Elections office has 60 business days to do that check, which takes them after the date ballots are due to be printed. If the measure fails to get on the ballot in June, organizers can try again for November.
