Job Help For Some Laid Off Nevada Co Workers

Some Nevada County residents,who were recently laid off when Rideout Health, based in Marysville, closed its Grass Valley clinics, are eligible for job help. That’s thanks to a grant from the Employment Development Department. Luis Moreno, with the Alliance for Workforce Development, says the EDD has awarded $288,750 dollars to help around 50 workers in Nevada as well as Butte counties…

The EDD says the grant will help laid off workers prepare for new jobs in the region’s industries that have been identified as having the greatest potential for future career growth…

Some of the industries in the region with the most potential include healthcare, advanced manufacturing, agriculture, information technology, and tourism. Services the grant covers include increased training, basic skills training, advanced education, and job search assistance.
