John Doe Identified and Charged

A male subject who gave numerous false names to law enforcement ended up going to jail first as a John Doe… and eventually identified as Tyler Smith. Grass Valley Police Lt. Steve Johnson tells KNCO that calls of a man exhibiting strange behavior stated to come in shortly after midnight Wednesday. The man was located at a Plaza Street business.

Medial personnel were called and while on the way the subject began to come around. At first he was confused, but then began to communicate with the officers.

When the officers attempted to identify the subject, the man became illusive with his answers.

After numerous false attempts, the officers tried to identify the man through tattoos and jail records, but continued to be unsuccessful.
Medical personnel checked the subject and confirmed they believed he was likely under the influence of multiple substances so the officers took him into custody.

At that point officers took the man to to the hospital for clearance before booking, then transported him to the jail.

Smith,-Tyler1During the booking process John Doe was identified through fingerprints as Tyler Smith 29 of Fair Oaks and charged with possession of a controlled substance and public intoxication.
