June Home Sales and Prices Up in Nevada County

Nevada County’s housing market has been heating up steadily over the course of the year. The president of the local association of realtors, Greg Bullanti, says 158 homes closed escrow in June, compared to 142 a year ago. He also says we’re really two distinct markets. From June 1st to July 19th, there were 399 homes available, with 39-percent costing 400-thousand dollars or under, and 39-percent at 600-thousand dollars or over. He says 67-percent of sales were in the less-expensive category…

Meanwhile, Bullanti says the June median price was 352-thousand dollars, just 2-thousand dollars more than May, but 19-thousand dollars more than a year ago. A major factor for the yearly price increase is that inventory was also 12-percent lower in June of last year…

But Bullanti also says that there were 279 homes on the market in January, but 389 were available in June.
