Jury Selection Begins in Alleged Child Molestation Case

Jury selection is underway today in Nevada County Superior Court for the trial of 34 year-old Ryan Paul Christensen, who is facing 12 counts of various  lewd acts and child abuse to at least two victims.  Christensen also faces special allegations of use of force, violence, duress, menace of fear and immediate bodily injury on a victim,  multiple victims and substantial sexual conduct on several of those charges. The charges cover a time period from 2006 to 2011, and two girls allegedly were as young as 5 years old at the time of some of the incidents. Christensen faces a possible sentence of 30 years to life.
