Juvenile Hall to Hold Open House Friday

It’s a chance to see how Nevada County deals with its young people when they run afoul of the law. The Nevada County Juvenile Hall is holding an open house tomorrow evening. Senior Group Supervisor Rod Kehele says you’ll get to see how the youth live and how the facility is run…

You’ll also see the rec yard, the kitchen, and the laundry area. You will *not* get to interact with the juvenile population. Adults are invited and kids need to be accompanied by an adult. Kehele says no reservations are required…

Kehele says the juvenile population is currently at 21 in a facility build to house 60. The average length of stay for an underage offender is about a month.
