One local woman’s vision has helped clothe hundreds of kids in western Nevada County. Four years ago a local mother’s group had a regular sharing program where mom’s passed along gently worn items to each other.
And using social media, Kari Stehmeyer, began to redistribute items to those in need. From there, a non-profit was born, The Karing Clothes Closet of Nevada County.
United Way, local schools, the Partner Family Resource Center, and others all benefit from The Karing Clothes Closet of Nevada County.
Tomorrow- Kari partners with Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Grass Valley to provide clothes to the general public.
Kari Stehmeyer says that she started doing this type of work when she lived in Florida and brought the cause with her to Nevada County.
Donations are accepted but not necessary.
