Keeping Busy

Sorry we missed each other yesterday!  And sorry that today is gonna be real short too.  When folks take vacation time we all pitch in to cover the work they normally do.  We’ve had a run on time off this week and it’s been busy, but not so busy that I could let this blog slip another day.

Here’s something to think about.  Me being this busy is really good for the overall economy!  It shows people are taking vacations!  As a matter of fact 61 percent of us are planing a vacation this summer, up from 56 percent last year.  That means more people are feeling good enough about the status of their job, that they can get away for a few days.

I’ve always been of the mind that vacations are critical for employees.  The time away allows your brains to work on problems other than their same day to day dilemmas.  That away time actually allows the brain to become sharper.  Think about how you come up with great ideas, personally my best brainstorms occur in the shower.  Maybe I should shower more often!  (more than once a day wiseguy)  I bet if you look back on what you were doing when you had your last great idea….you weren’t at work.  You weren’t even aware you were working on problem solving.

Right now I have to get back to dealing with other people’s emergencies.   If only I could solve that problem!  Maybe I’ll take a shower…………….
