‘Kids Safe’ Festival Saturday

A yearly event focused on children’s safety is being held this Saturday at Fire Station #2 in Grass Valley. The Kids Safe Festival traditionally took place in the Beam Easy Living Center parking lot, but has outgrown that facility and is being held on the pad behind the Fire Station on Sierra College Drive. Highway Patrol Officer Greg Tassone says a number of agencies and groups will be providing fun activities for the families that visit.*

Klaas says they’ve fingerprinted over a million children since his daughter Polly was kidnapped and murdered in 1993, and they do not keep the information in a database. Tassone says the C-H-P will also be assisting Grass Valley Police with a bicycle rodeo that will be fun for the kids as they learn to safely ride a bicycle.*

The Kids Safe festival runs from 10:00 Am to 3:00 PM. There will be signs and Sheriff’s Explorer Officers assisting drivers to the appropriate parking areas.
