The Nevada County Animal Shelter is dealing with a huge increase in kittens to care for. Sammies Friends Director Cheryl Wicks who runs the shelter for the county says spring time is typically kitten season, but there seems to be more kittens than usual this year, and they are looking for people who can foster some kittens for a few weeks.

Wicks says it’s just until the kittens are old enough to be spayed and neutered, about 8 weeks, then the kittens can be put up for adoption.

The shelter can provide food and kennels, they just need somebody to take care of the kittens and socialize them a little so they are used to people.
