Konnerth Pleas In Double Murder Case

A Colfax man who shot his girlfriend and her unborn child two years ago has reached a plea deal, and will be sentenced for murder. The Placer County District Attorney’s Office says 37 year-old  Lee Konnerth of Colfax pleaded guilty to two counts of second degree murder for killing Sarah Burr and their unborn child  in May 2011. The plea deal avoided a trial on first degree murder charges. The investigation into the murder revealed that Konnerth shot Burr in the back as she was attempting to leave their Colfax residence. Burr and her fetus died at the scene.  and Burr’s two young daughters, who were in the house at the time of the shooting are spared having to testify at trial. Sentencing is scheduled for July 17th.
