Measurements from 2012 show that you can see 75.3 feet down, compared to 68.9 feet the previous year. At one time in the 1960s, you could see down over a hundred feet. U-C Davis environmental researcher John Reuter says environmental awareness has led to the improvement…
Although there have been many technological advances in the way they analyze the data, Reuter says the way they measure the depth of the lake is rather old fashioned…
Readings are taken several times a year. Reuter says although the clarity has improved, there is a still a long way to go to get the lake and its ecosystem back to where it should be.
