Lake Tahoe Clearest In Decade

The water in Lake Tahoe is the clearest it has been in ten years. That’s according to the latest U-C Davis research study. Measurements from 2012 show that you can see 75.3 feet down, compared to 68.9 feet the previous year. At one time in the 1960s, you could see down over a hundred feet. Readings are taken several times a year. Reuter says although the clarity has improved, there is a still a long way to go to get the lake and its ecosystem back to where it should be.
