Nevada County’s congressman, Doug LaMalfa, was among the vast majority in the House approving the third coronavirus economic stimulus bill. But he also calls it fiscally irresponsible and included too many items not directly related to what he prefers to call “disaster relief”…
LaMalfa says the money has tripled the national debt. But he hopes it provides relief for at least some laid off workers…
LaMalfa says there continues to be a great need and Congress’ efforts, while creating an unsettling precedent on spending, can end the uncertainty and bring the economy back up to speed. Other notable features include a 12-hundred dollar non-taxable rebate to every individual who has a Social Security Number, is not a dependent, and makes less than 99-thousand dollars a year. Couples are also eligible for 500 dollars per child. It’s not known when checks will arrive, with officials saying it could be in weeks but it could also take months.
