LaMalfa: House Passes Immigration Bill

Nevada County’s Congressman in town Friday. Doug La Malfa, visiting Grass Valley as part of his regular tour around District 1, took time to meet with KNCO following a community forum earlier in the day. One of the big issues LaMalfa has been working on is immigration. Before leaving Washington, The House of Representatives passed a bill addressing the thousands of Central American’s making their way to the United States.

LaMalfa says that the new bill also corrects a previous law that is being implemented poorly.

The bill also fixes Presidential action from 2012.

The Congressman says the bill is in the hands of the Senate, but he cannot predict how they will respond.
